Alan Wake Will Join ‘Dead by Daylight’ This Month

The iconic protagonist, Alan Wake, hailing from Remedy Entertainment’s horror franchise of the same name, is set to make an entrance into the multiplayer horror sensation, ‘Dead By Daylight,’ assuming the mantle of the game’s newest playable character.

Following week-long anticipation, the official declaration arrived on 9th January, confirming Alan Wake’s integration into ‘Dead By Daylight’ as a formidable character. This addition brings a slew of new perks, notably the ‘Champion of Light,’ an ability that propels a player’s movement speed when wielding a flashlight.

The perk further impedes any Killer ensnared by its blinding effect, subjecting them to the Hindered Status Effect and decelerating their mobility.

Alan Wake further introduces the ‘Boon: Illumination’ perk, enabling fellow players to discern the locations of generators and chests throughout the map, concurrently expediting the process of cleansing and blessing totems.

Lastly, the character is endowed with the ‘Deadline’ ability, a mechanism triggered upon Alan Wake sustaining injury. This ability intensifies the occurrence of skill checks during attempts to heal a survivor or repair a generator, with the penalty mitigated if the check proves unsuccessful.

A noteworthy update to ‘Dead By Daylight’ comes in the form of newly recorded voice lines, featuring Matthew Poretta reprising his role as Alan Wake. These original vocal expressions include poignant cries, as per the official proclamation.

Sam Lake, the creative director at Remedy Entertainment, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to bring Alan Wake, our tortured writer, into the acclaimed ‘Dead By Daylight.’ We feel the lore of our two horror experiences is a match made in the Dark Place and can’t wait to experience the horrors that await him in the Fog.”
