The actress has publicly expressed her wish to return, even if it's just for a quick cameo, following the psychological thriller's enormous box office success and growing fan interest. The film is based on Freida McFadden's best-selling book.

Sydney Sweeney will play Millie in the sequel, which will follow her adventure into another affluent home full of secrets and perils. Although Millie's new storyline will be the main emphasis of 'The Housemaid's Secret,' Seyfried has stated that she would love to be a part of the next chapter as well, even if her screen time is restricted.

Speaking to Variety at the 2026 Palm Springs International Film Festival, she said, "No one's said anything about number two, but I guarantee there will be number two," before adding, "And I almost guarantee that I'm gonna be some small cameo in it."

Her want to play Nina Winchester again, or at the at least to continue her character's journey in some way, demonstrates her dedication to the project and her wish to continue being a part of the story world the movie has established. Additionally, Seyfried highlighted the possibility of characters like Enzo in the sequel's plot, implying that there is ample room for pre-existing personalities to reappear and engage in novel ways as Millie's journey progresses.
