America Ferrera Stuns in Stylish Tuxedo at Governors Awards 

America Ferrera showcased her fashion prowess at the 2024 Governors Awards, opting for a menswear-inspired ensemble. The 39-year-old actress, known for her role in ‘Barbie’, graced the annual event, dedicated to honouring individuals with honorary Oscars from the Academy's Board of Governors.

The ceremony took place at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles, recognizing Angela Bassett, Mel Brooks and Carol Littleton.

Ferrera exuded elegance in a custom black tuxedo featuring a grosgrain peak lapel. Complementing the ensemble were matching straight-leg trousers, a grosgrain cummerbund, and a bowtie courtesy of Moschino.

Maintaining a classic aesthetic, the Superstore star opted for minimal makeup, showcasing a nude lip and a fresh-faced appearance. Her bob hairstyle parted on the side with one half elegantly swept behind her ear, adding to the timeless look. Ferrera introduced a splash of colour with short, red nails.

This sophisticated tuxedo ensemble marked a distinct departure from the form-fitting, icy-gray gown adorned with delicate straps that she wore at the Golden Globe Awards just two days prior, showcasing her versatility in style. Her short nails featured a subtle, natural hue.

During the Golden Globe awards presentation alongside Kevin Costner, the ‘Yellowstone’ actor impressed viewers by delivering a perfectly memorized monologue dedicated to America Ferrera. Presenting the award for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series, Costner paid homage to Ferrera with lines from a memorable scene. 

Recalling the dialogue, he praised Ferrera, stating, "You know, 'It’s literally impossible to be a woman.' You know that, 'You're so beautiful. You're so smart, and it kills me that you don't think you're good enough.' That was pretty good," continued Costner, 68. In the film, Ferrera portrayed a character named Gloria, the mother of Sasha (Ariana Greenblatt).

In an exclusive interview, Ferrera discussed her standout outfits from the ‘Barbie’ press tour. She expressed her enjoyment working with her stylist, Karla Welch, and highlighted an all-leather ensemble she wore at a Barbie press conference in Seoul, South Korea on 3rd July.

Describing the Tanya Taylor top and Veronica Beard pants, Ferrera shared that she felt like "a badass" in that particular outfit, emphasizing how it resonated with her sense of strength and confidence.

Ferrera, who stands at 5'2", expressed her love for dresses but noted that there's unique empowerment in wearing pants and heels, especially given her petite stature. She emphasized that a great pant look captures her true inner style, making her feel tall and strong.
