Angelina Jolie’s Lawyers Claim Brad Pitt’s ‘Physical Abuse’ Started Earlier

In a recent court document, Angelina Jolie’s attorneys assert that Brad Pitt mistreated her before the 2016 plane incident that resulted in their divorce. The filing is a part of their ongoing legal dispute over their French winery, in which Jolie’s legal team is attempting to make communications public that they claim demonstrate Pitt refused to allow her to sell her stake absent a strict non-disclosure agreement.

According to Jolie’s attorneys, Pitt had a history of abusing their children before the 2016 flight, which is what made Jolie decide to leave him. Pitt’s friend refers to the claims as a diversionary tactic, but Pitt’s camp has not responded.

The terms of the NDA are disputed by both parties; Jolie’s team asserts that Pitt insisted on remaining silent regarding his alleged misbehaviour.

Jolie, according to Pitt’s legal team, recommended a more expansive non-disparagement clause. The problem started when Pitt sued Jolie for selling her share without his permission during the winery dispute. According to Jolie’s lawyer, Pitt’s refusal to purchase her share without an NDA suggests guilt.

Pitt’s lawsuit is the reason Jolie is grudgingly bringing up these points; should the case proceed to trial, she will have to present the evidence. Following the 2016 incident, Jolie decided not to file a lawsuit against Pitt, thinking it would be better for him to accept responsibility and help the family heal.

After announcing their separation in 2019, Pitt and Jolie have six children together.
