Beyond her impeccable fashion choices, Hathaway's role in ‘The Idea of You’, a film she also produced, mirrors her adventurous spirit. The movie delves into the unconventional love story between Soléne, portrayed by Hathaway, and Hayes, played by Nicholas Galitzine, a member of a boy band nearly two decades her junior. This daring role reflects Hathaway's boldness and willingness to explore diverse characters, both on and off the screen.

“At the beginning of the film, the character...she's really scared of going on that adventure because she's had such a rough experience with her ex-husband. And so to me, I was incredibly moved by the opportunity to tell the story of a woman blooming,” Hathaway said at the Austin, Texas, film festival.
