Anya Taylor-Joy Talks About Accidental Proposal From Husband Malcolm McRae

Anya Taylor-Joy shared a heartwarming anecdote about her husband Malcolm McRae’s accidental proposal, which involves the movie ‘Forrest Gump’.

During an interview with Just Jared alongside her co-star Chris Hemsworth, the 28-year-old actress, famed for her role in ‘Furiosa’, discussed her favourite movies. When asked about ‘Forrest Gump’, she expressed her love for the film’s epic storytelling and emotional depth.

Chris inquired if anything significant happened on the ‘Forrest Gump’ bench, to which Anya revealed, “Yes. My husband accidentally proposed to me on the ‘Forrest Gump’ bench in Savannah. Complete accident and he’s a boy from Alabama. And I’m blonde. So just, just happened. I hear that music and I cry like a baby.”

Anya Taylor-Joy and Malcolm McRae tied the knot in a private ceremony in New Orleans in April 2022. Despite her public career, Anya has previously expressed her privacy preference, telling The Guardian in 2018, “There’s a beauty in being anonymous… I’m quite a private person.”

The couple’s relationship remained low-key until they were spotted kissing in New York City in March 2021. They gradually became more public about their relationship, with Anya mentioning Malcolm in interviews and sharing glimpses of their life on social media.

Their marriage has been characterized by simplicity and intimacy, with a courthouse wedding in New Orleans in July 2022 and a larger ceremony in Venice, Italy, in 2023. Anya celebrated their second anniversary with heartfelt Instagram posts, showcasing their love and happiness together.
