Ariana DeBose to Host 2024 Tony Awards For Third Consecutive Year

For the third year in a row, Ariana DeBose will be hosting the Tony Awards, which is a remarkable accomplishment in her career as an Oscar-winning stage actress. On 16th June 2024, the Tony Awards, which honour excellence in Broadway theatre, will be broadcast live from the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City.

DeBose talked about how excited she was to have the Tony Awards at Lincoln Center once more. She will not only be the event’s emcee but also its producer and choreographer for the opening number, to make it an unforgettable celebration for both the Broadway community and the audience at home.

DeBose’s remarkable career includes them 2011 Broadway debut in ‘Bring It On: The Musical and Tony Award nominations for her performance in ‘Summer: The Donna Summer Musical.’ She has also made appearances in several shows, including ‘A Bronx Tale,’ ‘Pippin,’ ‘Hamilton,’ and ‘Motown: The Musical.’

In addition, she received an Oscar for her performance as Anita in Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’ and was nominated for an Emmy Award for the 75th Annual Tony Awards in 2022.

On 30th April, the Tony Award nominations for 2024 will be revealed. This season, a record-breaking 15 new musicals will open, making history. These shows include ‘Back to the Future,’ ‘Days of Wine and Roses,’ ‘Harmony,’ ‘Hell’s Kitchen’, ‘Here Lies Love,’ and ‘How to Dance in Ohio,’ among others, that are vying for the coveted Best Musical award.

Some of the well-known plays and musicals that were revived during the 2023–2024 season included ‘Cabaret,’ ‘Gutenberg! The Musical!,’ ‘Merrily We Roll Along,’ ‘Spamalot,’ ‘The Who’s Tommy,’ ‘The Wiz,’ ‘An Enemy of the People,’ ‘Appropriate,’ ‘Doubt,’ ‘Purlie Victorious,’ and ‘Uncle Vanya.’
