Jeffrey Dahmer needs no introduction; anyone who's seen the Netflix series knows his notorious history. Recently, family members of one of Dahmer's victims, Tony Hughes, reacted strongly to old comments by Ariana Grande about him, criticizing the pop star.
Years ago, Ariana had jokingly named Dahmer as her ideal dinner companion, a comment she revisited on a podcast, sparking significant controversy. In response, Shirley Hughes, Tony's mother, condemned Grande, calling her "sick" for trivializing Dahmer's crimes and suggesting it was inappropriate, especially for young fans.

Shirley and her daughter Barbara emphasized that bringing up Dahmer's name in public reopens wounds for victims' families who have suffered immensely. They demanded a public apology from Grande, highlighting that unless she has experienced similar pain, she can't understand their anguish.
Tony Hughes, who Dahmer met at a gay bar, was tragically among the 17 victims Dahmer kidnapped and murdered. Hughes, a 31-year-old deaf man, was unable to communicate verbally.

Grande, herself having faced trauma following the tragic 2017 Manchester concert bombing, recounted on a podcast a childhood incident where she expressed curiosity about serial killers, mentioning Dahmer specifically. She clarified that her comments were made innocently during a Q&A session as a child, showing an interest in the psychological aspects rather than endorsing his actions.
Despite the controversy, Grande remains focused on her music and continues to navigate her career amidst ongoing scrutiny.
