Ariana Grande Opens Up About Delaying Album Release Plans Until 2025

During an insightful conversation on the Zach Sang Show, Ariana Grande shed light on the intricacies of her forthcoming seventh studio album, aptly named 'Eternal Sunshine'. Contrary to her initial intentions, Grande disclosed that she had not been contemplating the release of any new music until after her participation in the production of the musical 'Wicked'.

However, unforeseen circumstances arose when strikes led by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) disrupted the production of 'Wicked'. Consequently, Grande found herself in New York City, where she seized the opportunity to collaborate with esteemed producer Max Martin for a week-long creative endeavour.

Amidst this unforeseen surge of creativity, Ariana Grande discovered herself irresistibly drawn to the studio day after day, where she found herself immersed in the natural flow of music creation.

This innate and organic process prompted her to reassess her previous reservations about releasing new music, as she recognized the significance of honouring her creative instincts and sharing the music that poured forth from her soul.

‘Eternal Sunshine’ represents a significant milestone for Ariana Grande as it signifies her return to the music scene after a hiatus of three-and-a-half years since the release of her previous album, ‘Positions’. During an interview with Zach Sang, Grande elaborated on how her connection to music has transformed and deepened since the release of ‘Positions’.

The album's lead single, ‘Yes, And?’ was released offering a glimpse into Grande's personal experiences and reflections on public scrutiny surrounding her appearance, her divorce from Dalton Gomez, and her current relationship with ‘Wicked’ co-star Ethan Slater.

Despite releasing a remix of ‘Yes, And?’ with Mariah Carey, Grande revealed that she would not be releasing any more singles before the album's launch. She expressed her desire for fans to fully experience the album as a cohesive body of work.
