Ariana Grande’s Candid Backstage Moments at SNL Captured by Liz Gillies

When Ariana Grande made her comeback to Saturday Night Live (SNL), her closest friends rallied around her. Liz Gillies, a former cast member of ‘Victorious’ and a close friend of the singer, joined her backstage and posted personal behind-the-scenes photos to Instagram. Gillies captioned the photo with a message expressing her unwavering pride for Grande, the evening’s musical guest and highlighting her love for her lovely and intelligent friend.

In the publicly shared images, Grande was seen going over a script in her dressing room and conversing with SNL host Josh Brolin and Wicked co-star Bowen Yang.

Grande was dressed in the blue blouse and khaki pants from the “People Pleaser Support Group” skit. In addition, Gillies recorded Grande in the studio before she performed selections from her recently released album, ‘Eternal Sunshine’.

The photos showed Grande in the tan mesh dress from her second act during excerpts from her two performances. Gillies posted the pictures, and Grande showed her admiration for her wisest best friend by reposting a few of them on her Instagram Story.

Before the performance of ‘Imperfect for You,’ Grande expressed her gratitude to her mother Joan Grande in a backstage picture that Joan introduced. In addition, Grande costarred with Bowen Yang in a Moulin Rouge skit that humorously reinterpreted the well-known ‘Elephant Love Medley.’

With songs like ‘We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)’ and ‘Imperfect for You,’ Grande selected songs for Saturday Night Live that she thought were the best among the album’s thirteen tracks. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Grande gave credit to the well-known movie ‘Eternal Sunshine’ of the ‘Spotless Mind’ as the source of inspiration for her album.
