Ashlee Simpson Discovered That Miley Cyrus Covered Her Song in 2009 

In a recent interview, Simpson recalled how her daughter Jagger introduced her to Cyrus' cover of her 2005 song ‘Kicking and Screaming’. " Cyrus covered the song 'I' on her EP titled 'Time of Our Lives' from her second album 'I Am.' "My daughter said, 'Mom, listen to this,'" Simpson recalled. 

"I came across the cover while watching a Hannah Montana-themed Spotify station"; is a nod to the iconic Cyrus Disney Channel character.

Simpson explained how her daughter discovered the original track, stating that she "heard it while listening to Hannah Montana on Spotify." She received praise for this song. 

When asked what he thought of the situation, Simpson did not speak to Stereogum, saying, "No, I didn't argue with that." 

The nostalgic moment comes as Simpson celebrates the 20th anniversary of her debut album, Autobiography Time. 

He recently posted a photo of the album cover on Instagram, showing his happiness at this milestone with the words "Waiting for Monday... Autobiography completes 20 weeks here!" To celebrate, Simpson offered a surprise to fans on X (formerly Twitter), announcing an expanded Autobiography to commemorate the album.
