Austin Butler is Ready to Rescue Drew Barrymore From Bad Dates

In a recent appearance on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show,’ Austin Butler, known for his role as Elvis, showcased his knack for being a supportive friend. The 32-year-old actor, alongside Callum Turner, was there to discuss their new Apple TV+ historical drama miniseries, ‘Masters of the Air.’

During the show, Drew Barrymore revealed her nervousness about an upcoming date. Despite the excitement expressed by Turner, Barrymore confessed to dreading such encounters, finding them inherently awkward.

Curious about the details of her date, Turner inquired about the plans. Barrymore shared that they were set for a lengthy downtown dinner, despite the common advice to opt for drinks on a first date. Butler, however, supported the dinner idea, emphasizing its value in fostering genuine conversation.

Encouraging Barrymore, Butler assured her that she would have a great time. Still hesitant, she sought advice on handling “weird vibes” during the date. Butler humourously suggested the classic escape tactic – heading to the bathroom for a friend’s surprise call.

Barrymore then revealed that she had met the “complete stranger” on a dating app, not her first foray into online dating. In a previous episode, she had declared her intention to quit dating apps after a disappointing encounter with a man who falsely claimed to be an NFL quarterback.
