Ballerina Misty Copeland Gushes About Taylor Swift Collaboration

Acclaimed ballerina Misty Copeland is still glowing about her experience working with pop superstar Taylor Swift. The two collaborated for a show-stopping performance at the American Music Awards, and Copeland recently shared her fond memories during an interview on ‘Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?’

Copeland, the first African American woman to be promoted to principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre, describes Swift as one of the most humble and “down to earth” celebrities she’s encountered. She revealed that Swift went above and beyond to ensure a smooth collaboration, spending hours and hours just hanging out with her and her dance partner, Craig Hall, before the big performance.

Copeland’s praise highlights a different side of Swift, one that prioritises connection and collaboration. The extra time spent rehearsing and building rapport likely contributed to the success of their American Music Awards performance.

The performance itself featured Copeland and Hall gracefully executing their ballet moves as Swift delivered her song ‘Lover’.

This wasn’t just a one-time collaboration for Copeland, either. She balances her demanding ballet career with a strong commitment to social activism. Copeland is a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion in the ballet world, a mission she shares with Swift.
