Barry Keoghan is opening up about a tough chapter in his life, revealing how cheating rumours involving Sabrina Carpenter pushed him to step away from the spotlight.
The 'Saltburn' actor spoke on Benny Blanco's 'Friends Keep Secrets' podcast, explaining that the situation took a serious toll on him. Barry and Sabrina dated for about a year before splitting in December 2024, around the same time rumours began circulating that he had been unfaithful to her with influencer Breckie Hill.

As the speculation grew, Barry chose to go quiet and even deactivated his Instagram. He explained that he could only handle so much and needed to step back. According to him, a false narrative spread online and gained traction, even though he never confirmed or addressed it publicly.

He shared that the rumours were largely fueled by a video posted by a woman claiming to have been involved with him. Although she later walked back her statement, Barry Keoghan said most people only saw the original claim, which led to widespread assumptions.
Barry Keoghan also explained why he stayed silent at the time. He didn't want to speak on behalf of others or drag anyone else into the situation, especially someone he had been in a relationship with. He felt it wasn't his place to involve others or have them defend him either.

The backlash, however, was intense. Barry said he faced harsh and deeply personal comments, including attacks that extended to his family. While he made it clear he isn't asking for public approval, he hopes people stop jumping to conclusions and spreading unverified stories.
Through it all, the actor is now reflecting on the experience and moving forward, focusing on his life and his young son, Brando, whom he shares with ex Alyson Sandro.
