In this instalment, ‘Beetlejuice 2’, the Deetz family finds themselves back in their Winter River residence following a tragic loss. When Lydia’s (Ryder) spirited teenage daughter Astrid (Ortega) stumbles upon a hidden portal to the afterlife in the basement, the infamous name of Beetlejuice is uttered three times, beckoning him to unleash chaos in the Deetz household once more.

The trailer teases the question of coexistence between the living and the dead, echoing Lydia’s ponderings on whether harmony is possible in this supernatural realm. Jenna Ortega, known for her roles in horror and thriller genres, steps into the realm of scream queen once again, following her appearances in projects like the Netflix series ‘Wednesday’ as the titular Addams family member and Ti West’s ‘X’, along with her involvement in the ‘Scream’ franchise. However, Ortega’s commitment to ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 unfortunately means she won’t be reprising her role in ‘Scream 7’.
