Ben Platt and Fiancé Noah Galvin Present at The 2024 Indie Spirit Awards

The 2024 Independent Spirit Awards became a romantic date night for engaged couple Ben Platt and Noah Galvin, who co-starred in ‘Theater Camp’. The duo, co-writers and theatre collaborators, graced the Santa Monica award ceremony and shared the stage while presenting the Someone to Watch Award.

During the presentation, Platt, 30, and Galvin, 29, stood closely together, exchanging affectionate glances, and Platt could be seen holding and patting Galvin on the hip.

While Galvin was nominated for the Spirit Awards’ best-supporting performance for ‘Theater Camp’ (won by Da’Vine Joy Randolph for The Holdovers), both actors were contenders for best first screenplay, which went to Samy Burch and Alex Mechanik for ‘May December’. Earlier on the red carpet, Platt and Galvin displayed their affection, holding hands and sharing smiles as they posed for photos.

Reflecting on their collaboration, the engaged pair emphasized their aligned sense of humour and taste, which played a significant role in their falling in love. Speaking at the New York City premiere of ‘Theater Camp’ in July, they expressed joy during the film’s shooting.

Their relationship traces back to their involvement in Dear Evan Hansen, where Galvin replaced Platt in the titular role. Developing a close friendship, their romantic connection was confirmed in May 2020.

Platt, known for ‘Pitch Perfect’, and Galvin, from ‘Booksmart’, opened up about how the pandemic served as a transformative period, allowing them to scrutinize and strengthen their relationship. Platt highlighted Galvin as a grounding presence, balancing his high-frequency energy with a beautiful sense of calm.
