Beyoncé Makes History as First Black Woman to Top Country Chart With ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’

Beyoncé, the celebrated ‘Alien Superstar’ musician, achieves a groundbreaking milestone, becoming the inaugural Black female artist to soar to the summit of the Hot Country Songs chart with her single, ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’. This historic achievement is underscored by the track’s impressive debut at No. 2 on the Hot 100 chart, further solidifying Beyoncé’s prowess across multiple music genres.

‘Texas Hold ‘Em’, officially introduced to country radio, secures the coveted top position, dethroning Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves’ enduring duet, ‘I Remember Everything’, which held the No. 1 spot for an impressive 20 weeks.

The track’s remarkable success is propelled by its massive 19.2 million official streams, 4.8 million all-format airplay audience and an impressive 39,000 sales in the U.S., according to Luminate data.

Beyoncé’s triumph places her in esteemed company alongside Taylor Swift as the only solo female artist to debut at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart. Additionally, she became the first female artist to reign supreme on both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts since October 1958, when these charts evolved into “all-encompassing genre song charts,” as reported by Billboard.

The surprise release during the Super Bowl, coupled with the teaser for her upcoming album, act ii, scheduled for a March release, has ignited immense anticipation among fans.

Teasing her new project on Instagram with a captivating visual inspired by the iconic 1984 western ‘Paris, Texas,’ Beyoncé captivates audiences with a glimpse into the cinematic universe of her forthcoming album. The full project is referred to as Act II of ‘Renaissance.’
