Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Film Expected to Make Over $22 Million

Beyoncé’s latest gig, the ‘Renaissance’ concert film, is smashing it at the box office, raking in an estimated £17 million ($22 million) during its opening. Released in the US on 25th November, the film has been generating quite a buzz with glowing reviews.

Described as a “special treat,” Beyoncé’s film offers an intimate peek into her life at this career juncture. Others call it a visual spectacle that sets it apart from Beyoncé’s previous cinematic endeavours.

The Hollywood Reporter suggests that the film could be in for a domestic debut windfall, projecting earnings between $21-24 million. The figures look promising, with ‘Renaissance’ pulling in an impressive £9 million ($11.5 million), including £3.9 million ($5 million) from Thursday previews.

According to insiders, this might mark the biggest early December opening in the last two decades. And let’s not forget the international stage. Combining global screenings, the film is expected to hit a total opening weekend haul of $40 million.

To top it off, Beyoncé drops a new single, ‘MY HOUSE,’ accompanying the film’s credits. Co-written and co-produced with The-Dream, the lyrics drop subtle hints that it might be a ‘Renaissance’ off-cut, referencing ‘Renaissance/The revolution.’

At the London premiere on 30th November, the red carpet welcomed a constellation of stars. Taylor Swift, echoing Beyoncé’s appearance at her ‘Eras Tour’ film premiere, graced the event. Destiny’s Child alums Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, LeToya Luckett, and LaTavia Roberson were also in attendance, joined by Janelle Monáe, Victoria Monét, Lizzo and Chlöe and Halle Bailey.
