Horror fans have much to look forward to in 2024, with films like ‘Abigail’ and ‘The First Omen’ already drawing audiences, and highly anticipated titles such as ‘MaXXXine’ and ‘Longlegs’ on the horizon. Among these, one reimagining stands out: Robert Eggers’ ‘Nosferatu.’

This film, set to release at the end of the year, promises a wealth of talent and dark visuals, with the first official trailer featuring Bill Skarsgård as the iconic Count Orlok only heightening the excitement.

Eggers is known for working with familiar faces, and many actors in this remake have appeared in his previous films like ‘The Witch,’ ‘The Lighthouse,’ and ‘The Northman.’ ‘Nosferatu’ marks the second collaboration between Skarsgård and Eggers, as Skarsgård had to bow out of ‘The Northman,’ which starred his brother Alexander Skarsgård.

Joining Skarsgård in ‘Nosferatu’ are frequent Eggers collaborators Willem Dafoe (‘The Lighthouse’) and Ralph Ineson (‘The Witch’), along with a stellar cast that includes Nicholas Hoult (adding another vampire role to his repertoire after ‘Renfield’), Lily-Rose Depp (‘The Idol’), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (‘Kraven the Hunter’), Emma Corrin (‘The Crown’), and Simon McBurney (‘The Conjuring 2’).

The plot of ‘Nosferatu’ is well-known, based on Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ and previously adapted by directors like Francis Ford Coppola and Tod Browning. Eggers is expected to stay true to the classic story of an unsuspecting man (Hoult) who becomes entangled with the legendary vampire (Skarsgård) targeting his wife (Depp).

Fans can anticipate Eggers’ signature dark, bloody, fiery imagery and mind-bending scenes that challenge reality.
