At the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Melissa McCarthy was starstruck — all thanks to Billie Eilish.
The duo took the stage to present the award for 'Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series,' ultimately won by 'The Bear'’s Ayo Edebiri. However, before diving into the nominees, McCarthy couldn't help but fangirl over Eilish.
Reminiscing about their encounters, McCarthy mentioned they had met "thrice" before, and Eilish even had the chance to meet McCarthy's "daughters and one of my dogs." McCarthy then shared an unexpected revelation.

"Since you’re asking, I actually met you in utero because your mum was my first improv teacher. And guess who she was pregnant with? It was you!" The Little Mermaid star disclosed. "Wow, okay… that’s a lot," Eilish responded, clearly taken aback.
Undeterred by Eilish's surprise, McCarthy then made a quirky request for the singer to sign her metallic dress. "I’m just trying to be more present in making memories and I’m trying for more YOLO-ing and less FOMO-ing," she explained, before suggesting, "Will you sign my face?" Eilish politely declined, not wanting to "ruin" the look.

"Will you sign my face?" McCarthy suggested instead. Eilish then grabbed a black Sharpie from McCarthy's hand and began writing her name on McCarthy's forehead, adding a small heart. Seizing the moment, Eilish jokingly covered McCarthy’s mouth with her hand when the star started asking about her and her brother Finneas’ songwriting process.
“So, when you and Finneas are putting down sick tracks or hot, hot beats….” McCarthy began before Eilish playfully intervened. “I think that’s better,” Eilish remarked, appreciating McCarthy's forced silence and laughing at the amusing exchange.
