BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Brockhampton’s Matt Champion Tease New Track ‘Slow Motion’

BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Brockhampton’s Matt Champion have revealed their upcoming collaboration, ‘Slow Motion’.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie shared the release date for her forthcoming collaboration with Brockhampton’s Matt Champion, titled ‘Slow Motion’. The song is set to drop on 8th March at midnight EST. The official announcement follows shortly after both artists teased the track on Instagram Stories on 3rd March, tagging each other in their respective posts.

In the preview clips, they sing, “Slowly… trying upside down, you’re my escape… a reality / You know what you mean to me ’cause I’m leaning on my way making my heart cry / Nothing is love.” Jennie and Champion became acquainted when they both attended Coachella last year, where BLACKPINK headlined on the 15th and 22nd of April 2023. Members of the K-pop group were spotted mingling with other performers and celebrity guests at the festival last year.

The teaser for Jennie and Champion’s upcoming collaboration comes hot on the heels of the music video for Jennie’s solo debut single ‘Solo’ hitting one billion views on YouTube, making her the second K-pop soloist to achieve this milestone after Psy with ‘Gangnam Style’.

Jennie also launched her music label named Odd Atelier (OA) in December 2023, marking the beginning of her “solo journey in 2024”. Explaining on Instagram, Jennie described the label as “a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected”.
