BLACKPINK recently wrapped up their highly anticipated 'DEADLINE World Tour,' and while the finale was meant to be a celebration, it left fans across the world emotional and worried. Tearful speeches, long group hugs, and heartfelt goodbyes from Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa quickly sparked speculation about whether the global K-pop icons were disbanding. As clips from the final show went viral, BLINKs began questioning if this was truly the end of an era or simply BLACKPINK turning the page to a new chapter.

Long-Awaited Return & Massive 'DEADLINE World Tour' Success

The international K-pop phenomenon BLACKPINK, which consists of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, reunited for their 'DEADLINE World Tour,' which began on 5th July, 2025, at Goyang Stadium in South Korea and lasted six months throughout Asia, North America, and Europe, following nearly three years on solo endeavours. With sold-out stadium dates and emotional fan reunions that demonstrated their worldwide influence, this tour was one of the most eagerly awaited group activities since their break.

Millions of people flocked to the stadium to witness spectacular performances that included both solo and group songs. During the tour, a brand-new song called 'Jump' was released, hinting to the tone of the entire EP, 'Deadline,' which is now scheduled for release on 27th February, 2026.  On 26th January, the tour came to an end at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong, marking the end of this chapter with a mix of celebration and nostalgia. The finale across three nights drew over 90,000 fans.

Tearful Farewell & Solo Futures—Not a Final Goodbye

Members were clearly moved during the Hong Kong finale, giving each other hugs and delivering sincere remarks that brought many fans to tears. Just before wrapping up 'DEADLINE,' and after their last act, all four members collected on stage, as Rosé said, "Last night before bed, so many thoughts suddenly flashed through my mind. I thought about our trainee days, calling our moms, and how we became Blackpink. We've achieved so much, all thanks to Blinks. There were tough times, but also many things worth celebrating together. Thinking about it, the tears just kept flowing." The APT hitmaker also added how the group was awaiting the release of their new album.

Social media discussions that this might be the group's final performance together were sparked by this open expression and extended embraces on stage. Also, given some noticeable behaviour within the group, including how some alleged that Jisoo was left ignored during the Hong Kong show, left many convinced that all was not well within the K-pop girl band. However, there is no official confirmation that BLACKPANK is disbanding.

Even if the emotional farewell felt important, these kinds of experiences are typical at the end of a huge touring era, particularly after a protracted period of working independently. From the tour's title 'DEADLINE' to the long intervals between group appearances, fans, known as BLINKs, have argued over every detail, frequently taking them as signs of a separation. Importantly, the group still has team activities on the horizon.

The 'Deadline' EP is slated for release in late February 2026, and more festivities are anticipated for their tenth anniversary in August 2026, which may include extra music or special performances. The fact that all four members renewed their group contract with YG Entertainment—while also running independent labels—suggests that BLACKPINK's collective identity remains intact even as they explore individual careers.

What's Next for BLACKPINK?

The swirling rumours about BLACKPINK disbanding are rooted in how emotional and ambiguous the tour finale felt to many fans. However, upcoming releases and anniversary celebrations, along with industry coverage, suggest a phase of evolution rather than disintegration. Group activities may become rare occasions rather than ongoing, year-round engagements as each member continues to create her personal empire through endeavors in acting, fashion, music, and business.

Therefore, even though fans may be experiencing a "deadline" feeling at the moment, the quartet is not formally breaking up; rather, they are embarking on an exciting new chapter with more music and memories to come.
