Bobby Brown Opens Up About Bond With Mike Tyson Amid Tragic Losses of Their Children

Legendary singer Bobby Brown and boxing icon Mike Tyson, despite their vastly different careers, share an unbreakable bond forged through unimaginable loss. Both men have endured the heartbreaking experience of losing a child, a tragedy that brought them closer together despite their seemingly disparate lives.

Brown, a Grammy-winning artist known for his work with New Edition, tragically lost his daughter Bobbi Kristina in 2015. Tyson, the former heavyweight champion, experienced similar devastation in 2009 when his young daughter Exodus passed away. These shared experiences of grief transcended backgrounds and professions, creating a powerful connection between the two men.

Their friendship extends beyond mere words of sympathy.  Brown expressed his gratitude for Tyson’s unwavering support, particularly at the Bobbi Kristina Serenity House Gala, an event honouring his late daughter. “His support is great,” Brown shared. “Having someone else who understands what I’m going through, someone who’s lost a child too, that means the world to me.”

However, their bond extends beyond dwelling on their shared pain. They acknowledge the constant presence of their loss, but they consciously choose to focus on positive support. “We try to stay away from it” Brown admits, referring to constantly discussing their tragedies. “It’s always there, but we lift each other up,” he clarifies.

This camaraderie extends beyond personal lives. Brown enthusiastically expressed his support for Tyson’s upcoming exhibition match. “He’s in fantastic shape,” Brown said, brimming with confidence in his friend’s abilities. Their friendship transcends shared grief, encompassing genuine care and encouragement.
