Brad Pitt Saddened by Shiloh Jolie’s Name Change
News broke recently that Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has filed to legally drop his last name. This development has reportedly caused further strain on the already troubled relationship between Pitt and his children.
Sources close to Pitt revealed that he is “aware and upset” about the name change. One source elaborated, stating, “He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter.” This emotional attachment makes the situation even more difficult for Pitt.

The source went on to say that these reminders of a growing estrangement are “not easy for Brad.” He reportedly misses his children deeply, and despite being happy with his current girlfriend, the distance weighs heavily on him. Another source confirmed these sentiments, stating, “He still loves all of his kids tremendously. This whole process has been very hard for the whole family.”
Shiloh, who recently turned 18, filed the paperwork to change her name to simply Shiloh Jolie. While the legal process is ongoing, this isn’t the first instance where Pitt’s children have distanced themselves from his last name. Last year, Zahara reportedly used Zahara Marley Jolie during her sorority introduction at college. Additionally, there have been reports that their son Maddox also uses Jolie instead of Pitt on non-legal documents.
The exact cause and timeline of the growing estrangement remain unclear. However, there have been public hints of tension. In 2020, Pax, another of Pitt and Jolie’s children, allegedly cursed at him on a social media post. This post referenced a 2016 incident where Brad Pitt was accused of verbal and physical abuse on a private jet.
