Brad Pitt is offering some heartfelt advice to the next generation of actors — and it’s not about chasing box office glory through superhero roles or franchise films.
The 61-year-old Hollywood icon recently appeared on the 'New Heights' podcast, hosted by NFL brothers Travis and Jason Kelce, as part of the promotional circuit for his latest film, 'F1'. Joining the show remotely, Pitt kicked things off with humor, joking about his chaotic morning and poking fun at his attempts to match the high speeds of Formula 1 racing while filming.
As the trio delved into a discussion about ageing and career evolution, Jason Kelce, 37, compared Pitt’s character, Sonny Hayes, to a grizzled veteran athlete. The comment opened the door for a deeper conversation about how actors — and athletes alike — evolve over time. The former NFL star shared how relatable Pitt’s character was to his own experience watching younger players come into the league over his 13-year career.

Brad Pitt on F1 Role
Brad Pitt, known for his roles in critically acclaimed films and his careful project choices, admitted he prepped for the 'F1' role by brushing up on his best “old man jokes.” But beyond humour, he reflected on the energy and perspective of younger actors. He observed that today’s rising stars seem to embrace the journey more fully, finding joy in the creative process in ways earlier generations may not have.
He contrasted this with the mindset that dominated when he was starting out — a time when selling out was frowned upon and artistic integrity was guarded more fiercely. Pitt explained that today’s performers often see value in branching out across different creative spaces and seem more open to blending art with commercial projects.

Brad Pitt's Advice For Young Actors
Still, Brad Pitt didn’t hold back from expressing a concern. He noted that many young actors feel pressured to attach themselves to big-budget franchises or superhero sagas early in their careers. From his perspective, that route isn’t always fulfilling and can burn out an actor’s passion if taken for the wrong reasons. Drawing from his own path, he pointed out that he’s largely avoided franchises, having only committed to Steven Soderbergh’s 'Ocean’s trilogy and making a brief appearance in 'Deadpool 2'.
In 'F1', Pitt plays a retired Formula 1 driver who attempts a comeback with a struggling team, APXGP, joining forces — and clashing — with a bold young rookie, played by Damson Idris. The film made a powerful debut, grossing an estimated $144 million globally in its opening weekend.

Speaking about the filming experience, Brad Pitt shared his amazement at the power and precision of real F1 cars. He described the thrill of accelerating toward a wall at 180 mph, only to brake hard and make a sharp turn at just the right moment — an experience he called truly shocking.
'F1' is now playing in theatres, blending high-octane action with compelling performances — and offering a powerful metaphor for the risks and rewards of staying true to one’s path in any industry.
