‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 Soundtrack Features Taylor Swift, BTS, Billie Eilish and Nick Jonas Covers

With ‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 set to launch this week, prepare to be enchanted by more orchestral pop covers from artists like the Vitamin String Quartet, known for their renditions of Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank U, Next’ and Madonna’s ‘Material Girl’ in the earlier seasons of the Netflix hit.

This season, the quartet has reimagined songs such as Billie Eilish’s ‘Happier Than Ever,’ BTS’ ‘Dynamite’ and Sia’s ‘Cheap Thrills’ for the Part 1 soundtrack. Additionally, Nick Jonas’ ‘Jealous’ is covered by Shimmer, a Los Angeles-based band, while Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey’s ‘Snow On The Beach’ is performed by the Atwood Quartet, set to feature in Episode 4.

‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 will comprise eight episodes, split into two parts. The first four episodes will premiere on 16th May on Netflix, with the remaining four debuting on 13th June. The soundtrack will also be released in two parts, with Part 1 available on 16th May.

Justin Kamps, the music supervisor for Season 3, shared with Netflix’s Tudum website: “I start to try to think of songs from the past that could maybe work for this and then also current hits that could possibly make sense.” He further explained, “It’s really down to the script and the themes. Sometimes it’s about what matches the choreography initially, and then later it’s about what matches the scene and the emotion.”

This season, the musical moments extend beyond the ball sequences. Kamps hinted at finding new opportunities to incorporate songs throughout the episodes. Returning this season is composer and music supervisor Kris Bowers, who teased a new theme for Penelope (Nicola Mary Coughlan). Bowers said, “Writing a new theme for Colin (Luke Newton), a new theme for Penn, and a new theme for the two of them together was a lot of fun and definitely infused a new feeling into the sound and score for this season.”

Bowers added, “My thinking behind Colin and Penn was how much of it was this timidity and this two steps forward, one step back kind of thing. The theme I wrote melodically has this shape to it that’s meant to evoke this feeling of stepping forward and leaning back.”
