Britney Spears Deletes Post Criticizing New ‘Lucky’ Music Video as Halsey Responds

Britney Spears and Halsey have demonstrated that their relationship remains amicable despite a recent controversy surrounding Halsey’s new ‘Lucky’ music video. Shortly after the video debuted, Britney Spears took to X to express her discontent with the visual representation.

In a now-deleted post, Spears wrote, “For obvious reasons, I’m very upset about the Halsey video. I feel harassed, violated, and bullied. I didn’t know an artist like her and someone I looked up to and admired would illustrate me in such an ignorant way by tailoring me as a superficial pop star with no heart or concern at all.”

In response to Spears’ concerns, Halsey, who uses she/they pronouns, addressed the situation with a supportive message. Halsey posted on X, “I love Britney!!!! I always have and always will. You were the first person who made me realize what it means to feel inspired.

And you continue to inspire me every day.” Halsey’s new ‘Lucky’ video, like Spears’ earlier work, explores the trials of fame, featuring a sheer catsuit adorned with crystals that seems to nod to Spears’ iconic wardrobe.

Promoting the video release, Halsey also paid tribute to Spears on Instagram Stories, sharing a throwback photo of the pop star with a white heart. Halsey had previously mentioned on X that Spears had given her “blessing” for the track and had been “soooo nice” in response to a letter Halsey wrote. A press release confirmed that Spears had listened to the song during its development and approved of it.

Despite the initial misunderstanding, both artists have shown mutual respect and admiration for each other. Halsey’s gestures of support highlight the positive connection between the two, even amid public disagreements.
