Britney Spears Was “Triggered” by Justin Timberlake’s Mockery of Her Apology

The ongoing feud between former flames Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake has taken another turn, with Timberlake reportedly mocking Spears’ recent apology during a concert in New York City.

According to an insider speaking to Us Weekly, Spears was left feeling annoyed and triggered by Timberlake’s onstage comments. The incident occurred back in February when Timberlake appeared to poke fun at Spears while introducing his song ‘Cry Me a River,’ a track often associated with their past breakup.

Timberlake’s apparent jab at Spears didn’t sit well with the pop star, especially since she had recently extended an olive branch by praising his new single ‘Selfish’ in a now-deleted Instagram post from 28th January.

In the post, Spears expressed her admiration for Timberlake’s music and even apologized for any past remarks that may have offended, hinting at their tumultuous history documented in her memoir, ‘The Woman in Me.’

The source revealed to Us Weekly that Timberlake’s remark was particularly hurtful to Spears, especially considering that their breakup many years ago marked a turning point in her mental health struggles. Spears had envisioned a future with Timberlake, and his decision to end their relationship came as a shock, leading to a downward spiral in her mental well-being.

While both Spears and Timberlake appeared to be moving forward in recent months, Timberlake’s mocking of her apology served as a trigger for Spears, reigniting tensions between the two former partners.
