BTS’ Jin Shares New Year’s Message: “I Miss You All”

In a pre-recorded video, Jin from the legendary K-pop group BTS sent out a cheery message to the ARMY, assuring them that the best is “Yet to Come” in 2024. The 31-year-old, who took the lead in enlisting for mandatory military service in South Korea, shared his warm wishes for the new year and requested a bit more patience from the fans as he wraps up his service in the coming months.

“Ta-da everyone! Hello! Seok-jin came to say hi for the new year,” the singer/dancer exclaimed, kicking off the video. Acknowledging his January birthday and the fact that he’s stepping into mid-30s territory, Jin playfully encouraged fans to embrace the wintry vibes by building snowmen and engaging in some nostalgic snowball fights.

Clutching a snowman plush toy, Jin humorously mused about other snowy activities. “What else can you make with snow? You could also go skiing,” he said, reminding everyone of his prowess in snowboarding. “Every time you go skiing, please think about me. Don’t catch [a] cold. It’d be really cold in January.”

The ‘Astronaut’ singer clarified the pre-recorded nature of the video, expressing his desire to stay connected with the ARMY during the waiting period. “I’m leaving this video so you can watch my pretty, handsome face and spend January and February warmly,” he said. “I miss you all. I miss you a lot.”

As he bid farewell, Jin reassured fans, “Guys, please wait a few more months. Now that it’s the new year, we have a few months left. Make a lot of snowmen and think of me as you make them.” He signed off promising his return in February and March.

But Jin wasn’t the lone messenger from the Grammy-nominated group. V, who recently commenced his military service in December, took to WeVerse on New Year’s Eve to reflect on his eventful year and express gratitude. The 28-year-old artist highlighted his varied accomplishments in 2023, humorously stating, “After living in such a busy and fierce life, I joined the military. 😂😂”

V assured fans of at least one new song from him during this hiatus, as he has “prepared contents” to drop while fulfilling his civic duties. It seems like despite the physical distance, BTS is making sure to keep the ARMY entertained and connected during this period of individual pursuits.
