Carey Mulligan Curiously Asks Bradley Cooper, 'What is a Cheesesteak?'

Bradley Cooper seems to be quite the cheesesteak expert, and he's sharing his knowledge with none other than his ‘Maestro’ co-star Carey Mulligan.

During the premiere of the Netflix film, which Cooper also directed, the duo discussed his recent venture as a food truck worker in New York. Cooper revealed that he made an impressive 600 cheesesteaks in collaboration with Angelo's Pizzeria.

Mulligan, curious about this iconic American dish, asked at the beginning of the interview, "What is a cheesesteak?" Confused about whether it involved "steak or cheese on steak," she turned to Cooper, a Pennsylvania native, for his expert and mouth-watering explanation.

Cooper described it as "homemade bread, hollowed out, with a sliced ribeye, Cooper Sharp cheese, and caramelized onions." Mulligan responded with humour, saying, "You're really selling it to me."

Cooper then shared that he recently made a whopping "600 of them" cheesesteaks. On 6th December, footage surfaced from Angelo's Pizzeria in Philadelphia, known for its classic and creative sandwiches, showing the actor serving up the city's renowned speciality.

As reported by The Philadelphia Inquirer, Cooper and Angelo's Pizzeria owner Danny DiGiampietro have joined forces to launch Danny and Coops Cheesesteaks. Cooper explained that he and Danny share a love for the cheesesteaks made at Angelo's in Philadelphia, and they've discussed the possibility of opening a cheesesteak place in New York or launching a food truck. The duo spent two days making cheesesteaks for people, with all proceeds from the pop-up event reportedly donated to a nonprofit organization focused on feeding New Yorkers in need.

At the event, Cooper's ex Irina Shayk, and their 6-year-old daughter Lea De Seine showed support. Gigi Hadid was also spotted at the order window. Lea accompanied her father to the ‘Maestro’ premiere, where Cooper beamed with joy, holding his daughter's hand as they posed for photos. Lea was dressed in a Dolce & Gabbana leopard print chiffon dress with sparkling gold flats and a red purse, while Cooper sported a dark blue suit.
