Carrie Underwood Falls in the Rain at Concert: ‘Won’t Let a Little Rain Stop Us!’

Carrie Underwood didn’t let a slippery stage mishap stop her show at the Carolina Country Music Fest this weekend. Despite the rain, the ‘Blown Away’ singer delivered a headlining performance at the rained-out music festival in Myrtle Beach. According to Underwood, the night had an ending that was “quite unexpected.”

Video footage obtained shows Underwood taking a slightly awkward tumble while exiting the back of the stage. She seemed to lose her footing while descending some stairs, prompting fans to scream, “She fell!” However, the ‘Play On’ artist didn’t let the fall or the sudden downpour spoil the fun. She finished her set amid the heavy storm, captioning an Instagram video, “We won’t let a little rain stop us! We won’t let a massive downpour stop us, either!”

In another post, Underwood appeared to be in good spirits despite the slip and the rainy performance. She wrote, “Well, last night sure was fun! And though the ending was quite unexpected, it made for a night we’ll never forget! 🌧️💧☔️ Thanks for being awesome, #MyrtleBeach!!!”

This wasn’t the first time Underwood has dealt with a fall. During an appearance on iHeartRadio’s ‘The Bobby Bones’ Show, she revealed that she had an accident while taking her dogs out for a walk. “I was taking the dogs out to go pee one last time, and I just — I tripped,” she explained. “There was one step, and I didn’t let go of the leashes! Priorities! So that’s why my left hand’s fine. But I went to catch myself, and I just missed a step.”

She also discussed the fall on SiriusXM’s The Highway channel with Storme Warren, recalling, “I thought I just busted my lip. Then I walked inside and took the dog leashes off, took my coat off, and went to survey the damage and was like, ‘Oh, no!’”

Despite her calm demeanour, Underwood admitted, “I’m acting very calm about it now, but … it wasn’t pretty.” She added, “I chipped my tooth, but it was just my skin, thank the Lord. Stitches and all that stuff.”
