Céline Dion and Taylor Swift Had an Awkward Award Handoff at The 2024 Grammys

Despite initial speculations about a possible rift, it appears that there’s no lingering ‘Bad Blood’ between Céline Dion and Taylor Swift.

Following an incident at the 2024 Grammys where fans speculated that Swift might have overlooked Dion while accepting the prestigious ‘Album of the Year’ award for her album ‘Midnights’, the legendary ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer put rumours to rest by sharing a heartwarming TikTok slideshow from the ceremony.

The TikTok, shared by Dion’s team, featured a series of memorable moments from the event, including a touching photo of Dion and Swift in a warm backstage embrace. The slideshow also included snapshots of Dion with other notable figures such as Oprah Winfrey, stylist Law Roach, Stevie Wonder and Victoria Monét. 

Accompanying the visuals was a segment of Dion’s speech from the ceremony, where she expressed genuine happiness to be present at the event, all set to her rendition of ‘The Power of Love’.

In the photo capturing the moment between Swift and Dion, the ‘Karma’ singer affectionately wrapped her arm around the “Queen of Power Ballads,” placing her hand on Dion’s shoulder as they leaned their heads against each other. Both wore radiant smiles, reflecting their genuine joy in reuniting.

Despite the initial speculation sparked by Swift’s enthusiastic acceptance of the ‘Album of the Year’ award, where she eloquently expressed her joy and gratitude, it’s evident from the photos and their interactions that both Swift and Dion were in high spirits throughout the event. Swift’s historic win, making her the only artist to ever win ‘Album of the Year’ four times, was a moment of celebration.
