Céline Dion Continues to Feel René Angélil’s Presence Years After His Passing

Céline Dion continues to feel the presence of her late husband, René Angélil, nearly eight years after his passing. Dion, 56, revealed to People Magazine that she receives signs from Angélil “all the time.” “I’m still married to René. He’s still my husband,” Dion expressed. She explained that she keeps pictures of him with her during her travels for treatments and has many photos of him throughout their home.

Dion’s sons with Angélil — René-Charles, 23, and twins Eddy and Nelson, 13 — also keep their father close. She fondly recalled moments before Angélil’s passing in 2016, when even then, her children spoke to him and kissed his picture.

“They were talking to him, and they kissed the picture,” Dion shared. She emphasized that her children always ask her to pack pictures of their dad when they travel. “He’s their dad, and he’s my husband, and he will always be,” she affirmed.

Directed by Oscar nominee Irene Taylor, the upcoming documentary about Dion’s life will explore her journey, including her struggles with stiff person syndrome. Taylor ensured minimal intrusion into Dion’s personal life while making the documentary, aiming to respect her family’s privacy.

Dion likened the documentary to “another song” of hers, noting its honesty and personal significance. “My fans who know me well know not all [my] songs are happy, but they are true. And this is a song that is very honest and a song that I own,” she expressed.

‘I Am Céline Dion’ is set to premiere on 25th June, offering an intimate look into the iconic singer’s life and challenges.
