In an exclusive chat with Total Film, Channing Tatum shared the intense experience of preparing for his latest role in Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut, 'Blink Twice.' Tatum revealed he had to venture into some “dark places” to embody Slater King, a billionaire tech mogul with a psychopathic streak.

“This is the first time I’ve ever played anyone like this,” Tatum confessed. “Usually, I find some connection or affection for my characters. But with King, that connection just wasn’t there. I don’t think I’ll ever tell anybody what I had to create inside my head to play this person. He’s a psychopath.”

'Blink Twice,' initially known as 'P*ssy Island,' faced a title change due to societal sensitivities. Kravitz explained to Entertainment Weekly that the original title met significant resistance. “It was clear that ‘p*ssy’ is a word society isn’t ready to embrace yet,” she said. “There were roadblocks, from the MPAA to cinemas not wanting to display it.”

Kravitz aimed to reclaim the word but faced unexpected pushback, particularly from women. “Women were saying, ‘I don’t want to see that movie,’ which is part of why I wanted to use the word—to challenge our discomfort. But we’re not there yet, and as a filmmaker, I need to listen to that. I care about how the film makes people feel.”
