Given their prior critiques of the institution, some people may be surprised by Cher and Foreigner's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Both the British-American rock group and the 77-year-old pop icon will be admitted to the 2024 class, despite having previously voiced their dissatisfaction with the institute.

During a December 2023 episode of 'The Kelly Clarkson Show,' Cher talked about her absence from the Hall of Fame. She expressed her disdain for the group and said she wouldn't change her mind.

In August 2023, Lou Gramm, the former vocalist of Foreigner, disclosed that the band's failure to receive a nomination was because of a "personal vendetta," implying a conflict between the band members and the Rolling Stone magazine owner.

Both artists will now be recognized with induction into the esteemed Hall of Fame, despite these criticisms. The founder of Foreigner, Mick Jones, praised the inclusion of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame under its current leadership and expressed his excitement about the band's candidacy.
