Christopher Nolan Admits Unabashed Love For ‘Fast & Furious’ Franchise: ‘I’m a Regular Viewer’

Christopher Nolan celebrated for his cinematic masterpieces, doesn’t shy away from admitting his love for the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise. During an appearance on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.’

The visionary filmmaker expressed his surprise when Colbert revealed he had never seen any film from the action-packed series, which debuted and has since spawned numerous sequels. Known for its high-octane thrills, the ‘Fast & Furious’ movies have captivated audiences worldwide with their adrenaline-pumping street races, daring heists, and themes of camaraderie and family.

Nolan, unabashedly proclaimed his admiration for the franchise, asserting, “I have no guilt about being a fan of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise.” 

He lauded the films as “tremendous action” and expressed his amazement that Colbert had never indulged in their excitement. Notably, stars like Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, Ludacris, John Cena and Cardi B have graced the franchise with their electrifying performances.

In recommending a starting point for newcomers, Nolan suggested beginning with ‘Tokyo Drift,’ praising its unique storyline and suggesting it would be appreciated as a standalone film. 

This isn’t the first time Nolan has sung the franchise’s praises; previously, on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, he revealed his soft spot for ‘The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,’ underscoring his genuine fondness for the series.
