Coachella: Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Nonsense’ Outro Hints at Boyfriend’s Infamous ‘Saltburn’ Scene

Closing out her second Coachella performance of 2024 on 19th April, Sabrina Carpenter added a playful dig during her final song, seemingly aimed at her rumoured partner, actor Barry Keoghan.

Known for freestyling cheeky lyrics in the outro of her song ‘Nonsense,’ Carpenter this time included a reference that some fans believe alludes to Keoghan’s starring role in the 2023 film ‘Saltburn’. The pair have been romantically linked since earlier this year.

She sang, “Made his knees so weak, he had to spread mine / He’s drinking my bath water like it’s red wine / Coachella, see you back here when I headline”.

The lyric mentioning ‘bath water’ alludes to a moment in ‘Saltburn’, where Oliver (played by Keoghan) consumes Felix’s (played by Jacob Elordi) bathwater after observing him pleasuring himself in a bathtub.

Fresh off her Coachella doubleheader, Carpenter penned a message reflecting on the festival experience. “That was one of the most fun shows I’ve ever played. I can’t believe i got to sing ‘Don’t Know Why’ with the one and only magnificent [Norah Jones]…. I can’t believe my keyboard is haunted… and i can’t believe you guys were already singing along to all the words in ‘espresso’. I feel so lucky. thank you to everyone who came to watch!!!!”

Sabrina Carpenter’s hot streak continues! Fresh off her captivating Coachella performance, she recently collaborated with Girl In Red on the single ‘You Need Me Now?’ (released last month). This follows her successful stint opening for Taylor Swift across multiple continents (Latin America, Australia, and Asia) from August 2023 to March 2024.
