Colin Farrell’s ‘The Penguin’ Series Set for Premiere in September

The release date for ‘The Penguin’ series has been announced. Colin Farrell, who became widely popular for his remarkable transformation and performance as the Penguin in Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman,’ will be starring in this spinoff series on Max. Casey Bloys, chairman and CEO of HBO and Max, confirmed to Variety that ‘The Penguin’ will premiere in September.

Before ‘The Penguin’ debuts, another animated DC series will conclude the summer. The new ‘Suicide Squad’ anime will air its final episode in August. ‘Suicide Squad ISEKAI’ will begin streaming on Max with its first three episodes later in June, followed by weekly releases.

This year is brimming with DC animated projects, including the ongoing ‘My Adventures with Superman’ season 2, which releases new episodes weekly. Additionally, two other animated DC projects are set for 2024: ‘Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three,’ releasing on 16th July, and ‘Harley Quinn’ season 5, which has yet to announce a release date.

For live-action enthusiasts, the final season of ‘Superman & Lois’ will premiere in the fall, either in September like ‘The Penguin’ or in October. October will also feature the release of DC’s only theatrical film of 2024, ‘Joker: Folie à Deux,’ hitting theatres on 4th October.
