Conclave Cast Triumphs at 2025 SAG Awards: Ralph Fiennes Calls It a ‘Blessed Time’

The cast of ‘Conclave’ won Outstanding Performance by a Cast in Motion Picture, the highest accolade at the 2025 SAG Awards.
Isabella Rossellini, John Lithgow, Sergio Castellitto, and Ralph Fiennes ascended the stage to accept the award at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Speaking on behalf of the group, Fiennes, 62, humorously pointed out that he was chosen to represent their ensemble rather than be the speaker.
He acknowledged the teamwork that went into the movie and thanked director Edward Berger, producer Tessa Ross, and the Italian crew. In retrospect, he saw their collaboration with Berger as a profoundly fulfilling experience, attributing the cast’s strong sense of camaraderie to the director’s cunning and concern.

Throughout the evening’s addresses, the subject of community kept coming up, and Fiennes emphasised its importance in their sector as well as in the wider world. He also celebrated the acting community by praising the other nominated ensembles.
Peacock is currently streaming ‘Conclave’, which also stars Stanley Tucci and Lucian Msamati. The Vatican-set thriller, which is based on Robert Harris’ book, imagines a high-stakes papal election with many unexpected turns. The film, which was directed by Edward Berger, has been widely praised during the awards season and has been nominated for Academy, Golden Globe, and BAFTA awards.
‘A Complete Unknown’, ‘Anora’, ‘Emilia Pérez’, and ‘Wicked’ were among the other nominees in the same category.
