Back in 2020, Radcliffe penned an essay for the Trevor Project, an organization dedicated to suicide prevention within the LGBTQ+ community, where he staunchly defended transgender rights.

In his essay, Radcliffe explicitly affirmed that transgender women are women and condemned any statements to the contrary for erasing the identity and dignity of transgender individuals. He reiterated this stance in his recent interview, emphasising his unwavering support for LGBTQ+ rights.

When pressed by The Atlantic regarding accusations of ingratitude towards Rowling for opposing her views, Radcliffe acknowledged her pivotal role in bringing Harry Potter to life but stressed that this didn’t mean he was obliged to share her beliefs indefinitely.

He affirmed his commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ rights while maintaining that differing opinions do not negate the gratitude owed to Rowling for her contributions to his life and career.
