David Beckham Talks About Why He ‘Chose’ Victoria Beckham as His Wife

David Beckham recently opened up about his enduring love story with his wife Victoria Beckham, shedding light on the beginnings of their romance. During an episode of SiriusXM’s ‘This Life of Mine with James Corden,’ David shared insights into how his admiration for the Spice Girls member evolved.

Reflecting on their early days together, David confessed that he was initially drawn to Victoria purely based on physical attraction. “I really just fancied her. I did,” he admitted. “I just fancied her. I didn’t know what she was like as a person. I just actually fancied her like most people did at that time.”

However, as their relationship blossomed, David discovered Victoria’s inner strength and resilience, which further captivated him. “I didn’t realize what a strong woman she was, and that is what really attracted me to her more than anything,” he explained. Beyond her beauty and allure, David admired Victoria’s dedication to her family and career, describing her as a hardworking mum who looks after him and their children.

Their journey as a couple began with the birth of their first son, Brooklyn, in 1999, followed by their lavish wedding ceremony in 1999 and the arrivals of Romeo, Cruz and Harper over the years. David expressed gratitude for Victoria’s nurturing nature, highlighting her role as a caregiver as one of her best qualities.

Recalling a pivotal moment from their courtship, David reminisced about watching the music video for the Spice Girls’ ‘Say You’ll Be There,’ where he was struck by Victoria’s allure in a “short black dress” or, as he described it, a “black catsuit.” This memory served as an early indication of his deepening feelings for her.
