David Foster Opens Up About The New Song That Reignited His Passion

The well-known pianist and music maestro has returned to the studio. He is best known for creating hits with icons like Whitney Houston and Celine Dion. Foster is working with Grammy-winning trumpeter Chris Botti on a new project called ‘Chris Botti Vol. 1,’ which is different from his typical pop and R&B material.

“When it comes to jazz, Chris is unrivalled. In regards to his choice to collaborate with Botti, Foster says, “His performances are truly transcendent.” “He persuaded me to join, and watching these amazing musicians under Chris’ direction was a pleasure. In contrast to previous endeavours where I had to be hands-on, I could make suggestions without getting deeply involved in the production process.”

After stepping away from music production for eight years, Foster realized he was ready for a change. He acknowledges, “I just got tired of my own routine.” “The music industry has its highs and lows, but I needed something fresh.” Foster says that getting back into jazz has been revitalizing and that he has always loved the music.

Foster specifically mentions ‘Danny Boy,’ which is scheduled for release in time for St. Patrick’s Day, even though Botti’s album presents a strong comeback to the scene. Foster remarks, “His rendition is simply stunning,” highlighting the trumpeter’s moving performance of the traditional Irish song.

Foster has been touring with his wife Katharine McPhee and their son Rennie for several months, but she is still his greatest musical collaborator. Foster highlights the distinction between their recent Christmas album collaboration and other projects, saying, “It’s not production; it’s just us enjoying music together.”

The new album ‘Chris Botti Vol. 1’ features Foster’s enduring love of creating music as well as his recently discovered passion for jazz.
