Selena Gomez and David Henrie are bringing a touch of magic back to Disney Channel as they introduce fans to a fresh ensemble of wizards!
In a picture shared on Henrie’s Instagram Story, the duo struck a pose during a dinner rendezvous with the eagerly anticipated cast of the ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ revival. Accompanying them were the new wordsmiths of the show, Scott Thomas and Jed Elinoff.
“Let’s create some enchantment,” 34-year-old Henrie captioned the photo, capturing the spirit of the magical world they are set to revisit.
Gomez radiated joy, wrapping her arm around one of the series’ writers, while Henrie, with a beaming smile, hoisted a young actor onto his shoulders. The photo showcased the new cast members, Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele and Mimi Gianopulos, all sporting smiles of anticipation.

Disney had earlier announced the reunion of the on-screen siblings for a sequel to the original Disney Channel series. Gomez is set to reprise her role as Alex Russo, appearing as a guest star in the pilot. Henrie, on the other hand, will grace the screen as Justin Russo in a recurring role.
The sequel’s plot unfolds after a mysterious incident at WizTech, where an adult Justin Russo has relinquished his wizard powers for a normal, human life with his wife and two sons. However, a twist occurs when a potent young wizard seeking guidance appears at his doorstep, compelling Justin to embrace his past for the future of the Wizard World, according to an official synopsis.
Brown takes the lead role of Billie, the aspiring wizard, while Thiele portrays Justin’s eldest son, Roman, and Gianopulos steps into the shoes of Justin’s wife, Giada.
Disney Channel gave fans a sneak peek on Instagram, unveiling a snapshot of the pilot script accompanied by a wand emblematic of the series. Henrie, thrilled by the announcement, commented, “Get ready for the Russo’s to become a part of your family once again, but we’ve grown! 2024, the year magic returns ;)”
