‘Despicable Me 4’: CinemaCon 2024 Drops First Teaser

The lovable supervillain turned family man, Gru, is returning in ‘Despicable Me 4,’ promising audiences another dose of mischief and laughter! Universal’s recent presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas unveiled an exclusive sneak peek into this hilarious new adventure, leaving attendees eagerly anticipating the mayhem that awaits.

Voiced by the talented Steve Carell, Gru finds himself on a wild escapade alongside Poppy, voiced by Joey King, as they attempt to steal a honey badger from a castle or perhaps a private school. Accompanied by his loyal Minions and mischievous son, Junior, chaos ensues when Gru gets an unexpected tranquillizer shot to the behind, courtesy of the awakened honey badger.

The uproarious clip, introduced by Illumination boss Chris Meledandri, offered a taste of the comedic brilliance that awaits in ‘Despicable Me 4,’ leaving exhibitors in stitches. Meledandri expressed his gratitude for the success of his animation studio’s previous hit, ‘Migration,’ reaffirming their commitment to producing original and entertaining animated films.

The sequel will be released on 5th July. The latest instalment in the multibillion-dollar franchise sees Gru and Lucy, voiced by Kristen Wiig and their daughters, joined by a new member, Gru Jr., who seems determined to keep his dad on his toes.
