Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia Team Up for Amazon Prime Video Thriller ‘Obsession’

Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia are set to headline Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming thriller series ‘Obsession’, a gripping narrative based on Catherine Ryan Howard’s novel ‘56 Days.’ The series greenlit at the close of last year, promises to deliver an intense and twisted tale of love, danger, and mystery.
In ‘Obsession,’ Cameron portrays Ciara, while Jogia takes on the role of Oliver. The story kicks off when the two strangers meet in a supermarket and quickly become entangled in a passionate and perilous romance. However, their whirlwind affair takes a dark turn when, fifty-six days later, homicide investigators discover a brutally murdered body in Oliver’s apartment.

As questions of guilt and innocence loom, the series delves into both the present-day investigation and the tumultuous journey of the young lovers, offering viewers a tantalizing blend of crime drama and psychological thriller.
Behind the scenes, the series boasts a talented team of writers and executive producers, including Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher. Notably, horror maestro James Wan joins the production as an executive producer, alongside Michael Clear and Rob Hackett at Atomic Monster. ‘Obsession’ is a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Atomic Monster, with Howard serving as a co-executive producer.
Cameron, known for her Daytime Emmy-winning performances and platinum-selling music career, brings her star power to the series following roles in Apple TV+’s ‘Schmigadoon!’ and Mel Brooks’ ‘History of the World: Part II.’
Meanwhile, Jogia, whose credits include Netflix’s ‘Choose Love’ and Sony’s ‘Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City,’ is gearing up for his role opposite Krysten Ritter in the highly anticipated AMC spinoff series ‘Orphan Black: Echoes.’
