Canadian rapper, Drake took to his Instagram handle on Monday(August 30) to confirm the release date for his upcoming album, Certified Lover Boy after it was delayed by months.
‘CERTIFIED LOVER BOY SEPTEMBER 3’ he wrote in his caption as he shared a post of several pregnant women emojis holding their stomachs. The album had been scheduled for a release in January earlier this year but was postponed due to health issues that the rapper had faced at that time. “I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab, my energy has been dedicated to recovery. I’m blessed to be back on my feet and feeling great and focused on the album but CLB won’t be dropping in January” , he had said in a statement.
The upcoming album is the first album that the Canadian artist has released since his 2018’s hit ‘Scorpion’. He did however release some material in between such as the mix tape from last year Dark Lane Demo Tapes and Scary Hours 2EP in March this year. He also launched his own cannabis brand in the meantime and was honored as the ‘Artist of the Decade’ at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.
