Drew Barrymore Reacts to Daughter Wearing Her Wedding Dress: “You Look So Beautiful”

The 49-year-old host of ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ recently shared a touching story about her 11-year-old daughter, Olive. According to Barrymore, Olive surprised her by dressing in the same gown that Barrymore wore to her 2012 nuptials with Will Kopelman.

“The other night I came home and I was told that Olive has a surprise for me,” said Barrymore, narrating the event.

“She was standing there wearing my wedding dress when I entered the room. And I thought, “Oh my God, you look so beautiful,” as I stared at her. “I go, ‘That’s actually technically the second time you wore that dress because you were six months in my belly when I wore it,” she continued. And I’m holding it back for your sister and you.”

Barrymore wore a custom Chanel gown with feathers, tulle, and a black satin belt that Karl Lagerfeld designed for her wedding. 

At the actress’ estate in Montecito, California, Barrymore and Kopelman exchanged vows in 2012; however, they separated in 2016. Frankie, nine, and Olive, two of their daughters, are shared.

Barrymore recently talked candidly about her past marriages and how she overcame the stigma she had attached to divorce on her show. She stated, “I had so much shame around divorce and, for some reason, something happened and I said, ‘I’m no longer willing to feel this way.'” “Divorce now to me, I don’t have shame around it,” she continued. I feel completely free now.”
