Headteacher Damien Jordan revealed that just a small number of staff members and the kids were aware of Sheeran’s impending visit. It had only been the day before that he learned who the famous visitor was. Create Music has released images of Sheeran interacting with the children as well as a video of him singing his 2017 single ‘Perfect’ in front of them.
“His main message was to not let school discourage you if you don’t [quite] fit the mould of an academic life, Never let that discourage you from pursuing your passions and making them your line of work. must work extra harder than others in the field to surpass them and get inspiration from them.”
Peter Chivers, the head of Create Music, expressed: “Ed Shereen aligns with our conviction that music possesses the ability to change lives. We deeply appreciate his backing and the substantial contribution of instruments to aid aspiring musicians in their journey.”
In 2020, Sheeran surprised students at a primary school in south London by conducting a music lesson over video call during the lockdown. It emerged later that he had contributed £170,000 to his alma mater to furnish essential equipment for its students through the Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation.
