Elton John Attains EGOT Status With Inaugural Emmy Win

Elton John, known as the Rocket Man, secured an Emmy Award for Outstanding Live Variety Special with ‘Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger’s Stadium’. This achievement places him among the select few celebrities who have attained the coveted EGOT status, having won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards.

Amy Poehler, the presenter for the award, alluded to his recent accomplishment in her introduction for his nomination by saying, “Now I can’t speak for Elton but, ‘EGOT’ to be excited about that.”In a distinct news release following his victory, John, now recognized as the 19th individual to achieve the prestigious quartet of awards, expressed, “I am truly humbled to join the incredibly talented group of EGOT winners tonight.”
