Emma Stone and Director Yorgos Lanthimos in Exciting Talks for a Fourth Collaboration

Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos continue their successful collaboration streak, with talks underway for a fourth film together. Stone, who both stars in and produces ‘Poor Things,’ is reportedly in discussions to join Lanthimos in his remake of the 2003 South Korean comedy, ‘Save the Green Planet!’

Reports have that the Greek filmmaker, aged 50, is planning to begin shooting this summer in the U.K. and New York. Stone, aged 35, is expected to take on a supporting role in the film, which centres on a disillusioned young man's belief in a businessman's connection to an alien invasion, leading to a captivating battle of wits involving a devoted girlfriend and a private detective.

This potential project follows their second collaboration in ‘Poor Things’ and marks their fourth feature-length film, including the upcoming ‘Kinds of Kindness.’ The duo has previously worked on 2018's ‘The Favourite’ and a 2022 silent short film, ‘Bleat.’

Stone, humorously describing Lanthimos' recurring themes of sex, death, and goats in his films, has developed a creative shorthand with the director. Their successful partnership has extended to various projects, with ‘Poor Things’ receiving 11 nominations at the upcoming 96th Academy Awards.

The remake of ‘Save the Green Planet!’ involves producers Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe at Element Pictures, alongside CJ ENM and Ari Aster's production company Square Peg, with Lanthimos at the helm as the director.

As Stone's future projects unfold, including the sequel to her 2021 Disney film, ‘Cruella 2,’ the actress expressed gratitude to Lanthimos during her Golden Globe acceptance speech, emphasising the enduring impact of their collaboration.
